CHICAGO — A single-family home with a "refreshing alternative to the long and narrow layout that is typical of Chicago's standard-lot homes" hit the market in Lincoln Park for $1.9 million, according to Coldwell Banker's Jennifer Ames.

Situated on a quiet residential block steps away from Wrightwood Park, 2663 N. Bosworth Ave. has five bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms, an award-winning garden and a large deck "ideal for grilling and al fresco dining," according to Ames.

"With oversized windows and doors that open out onto a back deck and screened-in porch, there is a strong connection to the outdoors from every room," Ames said.

The main level has dark hardwood floors that were replaced four years ago.

The living and dining rooms are filled with natural light, and the high-end kitchen is outfitted with mahogany-stained cherry cabinets by Rutt, stainless steel countertops and backsplash, a marble pastry slab and appliances by Viking, Sub Zero and Miele, according to Ames.

The master suite, Ames said, has a custom walk-in closet and access to a deck overlooking the backyard.

A double vanity with Rutt cabinetry and Restoration Hardware mirrors are among the features in the master bathroom.

Outside, there is an award-winning garden designed by Doug Hoerr with a "delightful mix of perennials including roses, hostas, lilacs, hydrangea and a raspberry path," which Ames describes as "very special."

The home also has a two-car garage.
