Man Charged With Shooting Boy, 8, in Face

CHICAGO — A Gresham man was charged Friday with shooting an 8-year-old boy in the face Wednesday night.

William Martin, 37, of the 7700 block of South Loomis Boulevard, was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with a male relative Wednesday day. During the dispute, Martin accidentally fired a gun, and the bullet grazed the face of an 8-year-old boy.

The boy was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, and was later taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Martin was charged with felony discharge of a firearm and a misdemeanor count of child endangerment. He is due in court Friday.
