Shootings Kill One, Wound At Least Six Since Saturday Night

CHICAGO — At least six people were shot and one killed in citywide incidents since Saturday night.

The fatal shooting happened in Lawndale Sunday afternoon.

Two people were shot in separate incidents on the Kennedy and Dan Ryan Expressways early Sunday, according to the Sun-Times.

One man was shot around 3 a.m. near the 79th Street exit on the Dan Ryan. The man, whose age is unknown was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in an unknown condition, the Sun-Times reported.

Around 1 a.m., a man was shot while driving Northbound on the Kennedy near the Fullerton exit. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in an unknown condition, they reported.

In other shootings:

• The most recent shooting took place about 6:55 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Dante Avenue. A male, whose age was unknown, was shot in the left leg, police said. He was being treated on the scene and was in good condition.

• A 29-year-old man walked into Mount Sinai after being shot in his left hand around noon Sunday. He told police he'd been shot in the 1800 block of South Hamlin Avenue. He was listed in good condition, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago police spokesman. No one is in custody for the shooting.

• A 17-year-old boy was shot in his ankle around 11:35 a.m., while he was in the 6900 block of South Eggleston Avenue in Englewood. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where he's listed in good condition, said Sedevic.

No one is in custody for the shooting and further information was not available.

• Around 2:10 a.m., a 30-year-old man was in stable condition at Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot. The man was standing in the 4100 block of West Adams Street when an unknown man opened fire from a gang way, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman.
