Bucktown Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Another Wounded

BUCKTOWN —  One man was killed and another was injured early Monday when a car was shot at in Bucktown.

Decari Spivey, 21, was in the passenger seat at the intersection of Interstate 90 and Armitage Avenue when he was shot in the head about 2:10 a.m., according to authorities.

The driver of the vehicle was shot in the hand and a third passenger in the vehicle fled the scene as the shooting took place, according to Illinois State Police.

Spivey, of the 200 block of North Keeler Avenue, was driven to Stroger Hospital before an ambulance could arrive, police said. He was pronounced dead there at 6:58 a.m. Monday.

Illinois State Police are investigating. No one is in custody.
