LOGAN SQUARE — The first free festival from music collective ElSounds kicks off this weekend in Logan Square, where more than two dozen local bands will play between two venues.
The ElSounds Festival is the first large scale project of Chicago-based music blogs Chicago Singles Club, Notes and Bolts, Midwest Action, Frontier Psychiatrist and Loud Loop. The two-day fest, August 23 and 24, will be held at Cole’s Bar, 2338 N. Milwaukee Ave., followed by an acoustic set at Café Mustache, 2313 N. Milwaukee Ave.
The festival was created to unify the work being done on Chicago’s music scene, according to Kerri Hacker of Chicago Singles Club.
“We would like to do more things together as ElSounds,” she said. “I’m pretty sure we'll do this again next year.”
