AVONDALE — A fundraiser for Avondale’s headline neighborhood festival will feature raffle prizes and cameo appearances by two local politicians turned “celebrity bartenders.”

Ald. Rey Colon (35th) and Will Guzzardi, who is running unopposed for state representative in the 39th District, will serve guests drinks from the bar at Moe’s Tavern, 2937 N. Milwaukee Ave., Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. ahead of A Day in Avondale, a neighborhood arts festival set for Sept. 27.

All proceeds from the July 30 event will go toward supporting local artists and community building, according to festival organizers.

The 2014 festival theme is “Homemade,” which will transform Milwaukee Avenue between Kimball and Central Park avenues “into various rooms of a home made by, for, and about the community in this free-admission, family friendly event.”

Raffle tickets at Moe's Tavern will be $5 each or $5 for $20 from local businesses like Dante's Pizzeria, Elastic Arts, Mindful Living and Inch and Mile, among others.
