Humboldt Park Shooting Leaves Man, 42, Dead

CHICAGO — A 42-year-old man is dead after he was shot in West Humboldt Park Saturday morning, police said.

About 8:55 a.m., the man was shot in the 3600 block of West Chicago Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Sedevic said, citing preliminary information.

Identified as Ronnie Amos, of the same block, he died at the hospital at 9:26 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said Amos is a documented gang member.
