HUMBOLDT PARK — Fiestas Puertorriqueñas, the annual Puerto Rican Festival in Humboldt Park proper, will return for its 32nd year Thursday to Sunday.
The community summer event celebrating Puerto Rican culture and heritage will kick off at Division and California streets from 3-10 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 12-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Highlights include music, including salsa and merengue, as well as food, arts and crafts, community booths, carnival rides and the presentation of the Miss Puerto Rico and the Juvenile Queens on Saturday afternoon.
The fest is sponsored by the Puerto Rican Parade Committee of Chicago and admission is free — though carnival rides are optional for a fee.
