CHICAGO — A 21-year-old woman died after she was shot in her head in Logan Square Sunday.
The woman was sitting in the backseat of a car heading east on the 3500 block of West Fullerton Avenue about 12:25 a.m., police said.
As the car drove past a group of males standing on the sidewalk, someone yelled gang slogans and opened fire, striking the victim in the left side of her head.
The driver sped away and took the woman to Norwegian American Hospital.
Cindy Bahena, 21, of the 200 block of North Laramie Avenue in Austin, was pronounced dead at 12:47 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said the car's driver was a known gang member.
No one was in custody.
