CHICAGO — A teen was shot in her stomach in a South Deering attempted robbery and a woman was shot in Englewood in separate incidents at bus stops Monday morning, police said.

A 17-year-old girl was shot in an attempted robbery as she waited at a bus stop near the intersection of 102nd Street and Commercial Avenue about 8 a.m., police said.

She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition with a bullet wound in her stomach.

Later, about 11 a.m., a 21-year-old woman was waiting a bus stop in the 7100 block of South Halsted Street when she was shot by a man, police said.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, according to police.

No one was in custody for either shooting as of midday Monday. Police said the incidents did not appear to be related.
