Montclare Man Shot Dead in Belmont Cragin
CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot dead in Belmont Cragin Saturday morning, police said.
Luciano Torres, of the 2300 block of North Newland Avenue in the city's Montclare neighborhood, was sitting in the driver's seat of an SUV double parked in the 4800 block of West Deming Place around 4:30 Saturday morning, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.
A red SUV pulled up and fired shots, striking Torres in his head and upper body, Sedevic said.
He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:36 p.m. Saturday, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.
An Avondale man was also died of a gunshot wound Saturday.
On Saturday night and Sunday, one person was killed and four others injured in shootings.
