Person Found Shot Dead in West Englewood Stairwell Was 17-Year-Old Boy

CHICAGO — A person found shot dead in a West Englewood stairwell Sunday afternoon has been identified as a 17-year-old boy.

Corderro Brown, of the 5700 block of South Ada Street, was found in a basement stairwell in the 6500 block of South Bishop Street about 3:18 p.m. Sunday, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

He had been shot in the head.

Authorities originally believed to body to belong to a man in his 20s. His identity was released by medical examiners Tuesday.
