CHICAGO — Basketball star Anthony Davis, in partnership with Boost Mobile, made a $65,000 donation for a new court at his Chicago high school alma mater.
The unibrowed big man will help unveil the new court at Perspectives Charter Schools' Rodney D. Joslin Campus, 1930 S. Archer Ave., on Sept. 6, the school announced Friday.
School officials said the school has no gymnasium and the new court "will replace a rickety portable basketball hoop that is rolled on the blacktop."
After leading the Kentucky Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA men's basketball championship, Davis was the top draft pick in the 2012 NBA Draft selected by the team now known as the New Orleans Pelicans.
