HYDE PARK — George Lucas and Mellody Hobson paid almost $125,000 to rent Promontory Point and nearby parking lots for their wedding reception, according to documents released by the Chicago Park District.

The star-studded event on June 29 was the first time the entire park on the south lake shore at 55th Street was rented out, and permits show it wasn’t cheap.

According to a special events agreement from March 25, the Lucas-Hobson soiree cost almost $10,000 a day for 10 days, which included the time it took to set up and clean up the reception site. The Park District added another $2,200 for "personnel/labor."

The couple also paid more than $23,000 to rent several nearby parking lots for valet parking on the big night.

And just in case there was any damage from the massive party, which included a performance by Prince, the couple had to put down a $10,000 security deposit.

The agreement is signed by Kari Bien of New York-based event planners VanWyck and VanWyck.

According to the permit, the party expected 500-600 revelers.
