SOUTH LOOP — The music venue at Northerly Island got a slow start to its summer concert season, but promoters hope to make it up to concert-goers with a special concession at the June 29 Jimmy Buffet concert, the venue's second show this season.

Tailgating before the show kicks off will be permitted in designated sections of the Soldier Field parking lots.

Parking was included in the ticket prices, and Parrotheads can tailgate for free in the lots after 4:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. concert. Tailgaters can get an earlier start, but anyone parking between when lots open at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. will have to pay between $19 and $22 extra.

Tailgating will be allowed in the South Lot, on the upper Waldron Deck, in the 31st Street parking lot and "in the surrounding grassy areas," according to a release issued Tuesday morning by Live Nation, which manages the venue.

A shuttle will be provided from the 31st Street lot to the 18th Street bus turn-around area near the concert pavilion.
