NEAR WEST SIDE — Tickets for Baconfest 2013 are gone.

The tickets, which went on sale at noon Wednesday, sold out in 41 minutes, said Seth Zurer, one of Baconfest's founders.

"Yeah, we’re happy," Zurer said. "So far we have found that it never pays to underestimate Chicagoans' love of bacon."

It took 41 minutes for all the tickets to technically be sold, although Zurer pointed out that within a minute of going on sale, every general admission Baconfest ticket had already been placed in a buyer's online cart.

Baconfest will be held at the UIC Forum on April 20. Both $100 general admission tickets and $200 VIP tickets are sold out and those looking for black market Baconfest tickets should be wary, as the tickets are non-transferrable.

"We wish we had a venue the size of the moon and enough bacon for all those who went to eat it, but unfortunately we have to live in the world of physical space," Zurer said.
