CHICAGO — An Albany Park woman died Monday night after her van struck a pole and then a tree in Avondale, authorities said.

Ann Kim, 57, of the 2800 block of West Montrose Avenue, was driving northbound in the 3200 block of North Elston Street about 9:30 p.m. Monday when her Nissan van struck a pole and then a tree, according to authorities.

She was transported to Illinois Masonic hospital and pronounced dead at 10:04 p.m., authorities said.

No one else was in the van at the time, police said. It was not immediately clear what led to the crash.
