One in Custody After Man Shot to Death in Englewood

CHICAGO — Police have a person in custody after a fatal shooting in Englewood Friday, officials said.

Ronald Peterson, 50, was shot in the chest about 3 p.m. outside his home in the 5800 block of South Shields Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Peterson was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, where he later died, officials said.

Police recovered a weapon and had a person in custody after the domestic-related shooting, Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman, said.
