CHICAGO — A woman was sexually assaulted outside her South Loop home Wednesday evening by a man who then stole her keys and entered the residence, police said.

The 56-year-old victim was assaulted just outside her home in the 1400 block of South Clark Street about 6:40 p.m., police said.

Police said the attacker then took her keys and entered her home with the intention of robbing her. Police said they did not know what was taken.

The victim was brought to a local hospital.

Her alleged attacker is described by police as black, 30 to 40 years old, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 and weighing about 175 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a dark knit ski cap with a red band around the edge along with a dark jacket or sweater, police said.
