CHICAGO — Six people were shot, including one fatally, in incidents that occurred 15 minutes and two miles apart Friday evening.

Four people were shot on the 4200 block of South Wells Street at about 6:20 p.m., said Chicago Police Spokesman Veejay Zala. One was found dead on arrival, according to the Chicago Fire Department Twitter feed.

The four victims included a 30-year-old shot in the head. Zala could not say whether that victim was the one found dead on arrival, though police were seen at the crime site investigating around a body in a house.

The other victims included a 30-year-old shot in the neck and a 42-year-old shot in the torso who was sent to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition. A 27-year-old shot in the leg who was sent to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in serious condition.

Fifteen minutes earlier, two 19-year-old men were shot in an apparent drive-by in the 1100 block of West 51st Street, Zala said. One man was shot in the back while another was shot multiple times. Both men were taken to Stroger in critical condition.
