Participatory Budgeting

Arena will host five neighborhood assemblies in the coming weeks to begin the process.  

Results from the 22nd Ward's first participatory budgeting process are in.

About 500 people voted in the participatory budget election, Ald. John Arena's office said.

The last day to vote in the 45th Ward participatory budget election is Saturday.

Votes can be cast from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the 45th Ward Office,  4754 N. Milwaukee Ave., through Friday.

Voters in the 49th Ward decided over the past week where to spend $1 million.

The tool could eventually allow residents to vote from home.

This is the first year 22nd Ward residents will use a system that gives them a vote on ward spending.

The changes are designed to make the second-annual vote more fair, 45th Ward officials said.
