The projects will be paid for by $24 million in TIF money and completed by fall 2014.

Parents at the Edgebrook elementary school have sought an expansion to ease overcrowding.

The Far Northwest Side School expects to lose $59,000 because of an enrollment decline.

A resolution calling for a city referendum on an elected Board of Education went to the Rules Committee.
