An alderman who was outraged at the spending of Downtown TIF funds last month has changed her tune. 

The Plan Commission unanimously approved the North Branch Industrial Corridor Modernization Plan.

The framework was to be presented to the Plan Commission for final approval Thursday.

A city plan for the future of the area doesn't include enough parks and green space, they said.

The last day to comment on the North Branch Industrial Corridor's future is Monday. 

The public-private deal could see a new Engine Co. 42 fire station built at the base of proposed tower.

Neighbors are invited to weigh in on development guidelines at the Visioning Workshop this weekend.

The developers of an adjoining apartment complex still need to submit their own plan to the commission.

The groups point to a city recommendation that new buildings in the area don't exceed four stories.  

The 13,000-square-foot barn was approved Thursday for the school in Mount Greenwood.

The westbound lanes will be closed through Feb. 24, but it has nothing to do with Finkl Steel.

The Metropolitan Planning Council study will serve as a guide to vet future projects, one leader said.

But there's still a chance the cozy cottage could be saved. 

Over the next six months, the city will be working with the community to come up with new "land uses."

The land use plan will guide development in the Pilsen neighborhood for years to come.
