For the next eight weeks, construction crews will be replacing a century-old water main on Argyle St.
The former troubled nursing home is now a luxury housing complex, and tenants are moving in Oct. 1.
The concept, more common in Europe, blurs the line between street and sidewalk on Argyle.
A makeover aimed at revitalizing part of Uptown includes narrowing driving lanes and widening sidewalks.
"This is not about making Uptown look like Lincoln Park, Lakeview or Edgewater," Ald. Cappleman said.
Ald. Harry Osterman's office said the new sign won't be going anywhere, despite its harsh reviews.
