The water tower was removed from atop the Swedish American Museum at 5211 N. Clark St. in March 2014.
More than $52,000 has been raised toward the estimated repair bill of about $150,000.
The popular festival features live music, drinks and food from June 6-8.
Fixing the iconic tank will take between $150,000 and $200,000 — or more.
The director of the Swedish American Museum said she didn't know if it would return.
