Ald. Moreno said he wants to ensure the community can control what happens at the Double Door.

A buyer pulled out of a sale after interference by 1st Ward Ald. Joe Moreno, alleged the property owner.

"Double Door Presents" will bring a concert each month to nightlife bar The Owl, 2521 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The eviction locked workers out of the club, where they left thousands of dollars in equipment.

After club eviction, fans lament "sad, sad day" for music scene.

“We have the right to continue the appeal unimpeded” by the threat of closure, lawyer for club said.

"I came here to see Bad Suns and not the World Series," a music fan said. 

The music venue wants to move into the historic former bank building at 2551 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Double Door owners have filed a proposal to operate a music venue in a prominent Logan Square building.

"We have significant issues that we think are worthy of review by the appellate court," lawyer said.

On Dec. 31, the club must turn over its keys to the building owner, ending a nine-month eviction battle.
