Simon Slater

Software Engineer Contact

Simon Slater is a software engineer at DNAinfo.

He studied, painting and drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and then at the University of Pennsylvania. It was during his time studying in Philadelphia that he learned to have a deep appreciation for a well made sandwich.

Prior to working at DNAinfo, Simon built a site in PHP that matched movers with people looking to move. Shortly thereafter, he worked at Hukkster as a Jr. Backend Engineer working primarily in Python. When he is not working Simon likes to paint, work on a Fluxus influenced web project, and watch lots of reality television.

Fun Fact: For a brief moment in his freshman year in college Simon thought about being a journalist.  Nothing meaningful came out of this foray, except that he spent an afternoon discussing Richard Nixon with Hunter S. Thompson. He liked that. Simon that is.
