Orenthal Hawkins is DNAinfo's manager of program services, and he is responsible for project management and functional analysis initiatives.
He has more than 20 years experience in information technology. Prior to DNAinfo, Orenthal worked at Simon & Schuster where he was responsible for functional analysis supporting the Sales, Supply Chain and Finance departments.
Previously, at Cap Gemini, he was a Senior Consultant, working with clients in a variety of fields such as health care, financial services and media. His major clients included Time Inc., Societe Generale, JP Morgan Chase and Smith Barney.
Orenthal began his career as a programmer with MetLife and Standard & Poors, eventually moving into management consulting with Cap Gemini. He has also deep experience with startups, serving as Project Manager for ClubMom (now CafeMom), a division of CMI Marketing, in addition to working as a technology strategist and consultant, most recently for Scholastic, Inc.
Orenthal holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Fordham University. He considers the Bronx home, but lives in Central New Jersey.
