Joana grew up in the north suburbs but has always been in love with the city. She attended the Illinois Institute of Art Chicago where she received a BFA in Visual Communications which allowed her to pursue her city living dream. Currently residing in Naperville and working in downtown Chicago for DNAinfo has given her the best of both worlds. She has always had a passion for design & layout but mastered print production chops while handling niche publications during her long stint at the Chicago Tribune. Before joining DNAinfo Joana was a design freelancer working in diverse industries including nonprofit, agency, retail, media and publishing. 

For Fun Fact: Joana love talking food and listening to sports radio. Her son is a leap year baby!
