Justin Breen is a Senior Editor at DNAinfo.com Chicago.

In addition to his editorial duties, Breen also covers sports, features, urban animals and other human-interest topics.

Breen previously worked at The Times of Northwest Indiana, where he was Sports Editor before being promoted to Assistant Managing Editor. He also had a brief stint as the Interim Editor at the Rapid City (S.D.) Journal, where he oversaw a 35-person newsroom. Breen was selected one of the "Top 25 Publishing Leaders Under 35 Years Old" by Editor & Publisher in 2011.

Breen also worked at the Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana and the Michigan City (Ind.) News-Dispatch. Breen is a 1999 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he serves as the university's Alumni Board Journalism Chair.

Breen and his wife, Sarah, former Edison Park and Lakeview residents, are proud parents of Jacob "Jake" Michael Breen, who was born Oct. 10, 2012, and Chase Logan Breen, who was born June 25, 2014.

Fun Fact: It's not really fun, but Breen runs six days a week outside, no matter the weather conditions.
