Bettina Chang

News Editor @bechang8 Contact

Bettina is a News Editor at DNAinfo Chicago.

She joined the Chicago team after spending about a year as associate editor at Pacific Standard magazine in California, where she got sick of the temperate climate and yearned for the weather extremes of her hometown Chicago.

Prior to that, she worked as features editor at syndication company Content That Works, partnering with local papers across the country to create home design and real estate magazines.

Bettina has written and edited stories ranging from the dangers of pumping breast milk, to the engineered building systems of concert halls, to pre-World Cup economic issues in Johannesburg, South Africa.

She now lives in Logan Square, too close to Miko's Italian Ice and too far from the nearest gym. She's a proud board of directors member at the local nonprofit Supplies for Dreams.

Fun fact: As a high schooler, Bettina ran a side business hawking individual-sized packages of Koala Yummies to her classmates for $1 each. She got a great ROI because she bought in bulk. Capitalism!
