CHICAGO — A man standing on a West Ridge sidewalk was shot in a drive-by shooting Saturday night, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 2600 block of West Peterson Avenue at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, police said. The shooting was near Piccolo Lounge, which advertised it was holding the "hottest halloween party in Chicago" that night.

Someone in a dark-colored Toyota Camry going south on Rockwell fired several shots at him. The car then fled east on Peterson.

The 30-year-old victim was shot in his chest and right hand, according to police. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.
