HYDE PARK — A Hyde Park man was pushed down and punched and kicked Wednesday morning by four men who took his wallet, according to police.

The man was walking in the 5200 block of South Woodlawn Avenue at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday when four men pushed him down on the sidewalk, police said.

The men punched and kicked the man, took his valuables and ran off, according to police.

University of Chicago police said the man’s wallet was taken.

The man didn’t appear to be injured, police said, but because he was dazed, officers sent him to the University of Chicago Medicine for an evaluation.

Police said the victim didn’t report seeing any weapons. They are searching for the attackers.
