CHICAGO — Chance the Rapper bought every ticket to the new Thurgood Marshall movieat two South Side theaters — just so everyone else can see it for free.

Chance, a Chatham native, announced the purchase on Twitter. He suggested people go at 3 p.m. but hasn't yet explained why.

The free showings will be available all day Friday at the ShowPlace ICON, 1011 S. Delano Court, and Chatham 14 Theaters, 210 W. 87th St.

"Marshall" depicts the life of Thurgood Marshall, a lawyer who became the first black Supreme Court justice. Before his Supreme Court career, Marshall worked with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and successfully argued Brown v. Board of Education before the Supreme Court.
