CHICAGO — A 22-year-old Lincoln Park man was fatally shot in Albany Park Friday afternoon, police said.
He was shot in his chest while in the 4600 block of North Central Park Avenue at 2:10 p.m.
He was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he died.
He was identified as Ian Ashford, of the 2300 block of North Bosworth Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Cmdr. Elias Voulgaris, who frequently updates neighbors via social media, posted, "This was not a random act."
No one is in custody.
