LAKEVIEW — Here are a few ideas for what to do in Lakeview this weekend:

Get scared. At noon on Saturday, the Music Box Theatre will transform into the Music Box of Horrors. For 24 hours, the old movie palace will show scary movies from frightmasters like George A. Romero, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Clive Barker and Freddy Krueger. There will also be a Q&A with "Dark Waters" director Mariano Baino, a showing of the only 35-millimeter print of "Ginger Snaps" in existence, the '90s anthology "Tales From the Hood" on 16-millimeter, special vendors, food trucks and more. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of. They can be purchased online.

Get scared, but maybe not for 24 hours. The Haunted House at Chase Park opens Saturday, offering an elaborate maze of evil cabins and monsters ready to chase you through it. The haunted house is open from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, and there is also a screening of the original 1990 horror classic, "Stephen King's IT." Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Check online for more dates and times, as well as information on "no-scare" walkthroughs of the haunted house for kids.

Support the pups. The annual Chicago Canine Rescue Mutt Strut is back from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (the walk starts at 1 p.m.) on Saturday at North Southport Avenue and West Newport Avenue. Hundreds of animal lovers will fill the streets of Wrigleyville for a Superhero-themed block party and 1.5-mile fun walk. Get access to canine experts like dog trainers, veterinarians, nutritionists, groomers and more. The event will also have food and refreshments, a silent auction, dogs available for adoption and more. Registration is $49 per person or $79 per family, and kids younger than 12 are free. The registration fee includes an event T-shirt, goody bag, food and refreshments at the event, and the entire donation goes to Chicago Canine Rescue.

Get classy. The Park at Wrigley is offering a new event called The Line-Up, a classical music experience featuring musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Northwestern University, Civic Orchestra of Chicago and Lyric Opera of Chicago. It takes place from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and is free and open to the public. Works by J.S. Bach, Bruckner, Ravel and more will be performed. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and more information can be found online.
