LINCOLN SQUARE — Chicago's National Cambodian Heritage Museum and Killing Fields Memorial will host a free screening of Angelina Jolie's directorial effort "First They Killed My Father."

Seating for the event — scheduled for 4 p.m. Oct. 15 — is limited. Click here to register and reserve a spot.

The film is based on the memoir of the same name by Loung Ung, who survived the deadly rule of the Khmer Rouge regime, under which 2 million Cambodians were killed between 1975 and 1979.

Following the screening, members of Chicago's Cambodian community will share their own experiences of life in the aftermath of the Khmer Rouge.

The museum, at 2831 W. Lawrence Ave., educates visitors about Cambodia's ancient and modern history and provides programming to promote Cambodian culture.
