WASHINGTON PARK — UniverSoul Circus is returning to Washington Park Oct. 4 for a nearly monthlong run in Washington Park.

The international roster of circus performers is now in its 24th season and returns to Washington Park for a run of shows from Oct. 4-29.

This year’s central act, the Fresh Clownsss trio hails from Detroit. But many of the performers come from farther afield, including contortionists from Guinea, acrobats from Ethiopia, animal acts from Mexico and dancers from the Caribbean.

The ringleader this year is Lucky Malatsi of South Africa, a 15-year member of the circus.

“Come to our show and get ready for some pure unadulterated energy under the big top,” founder and CEO Cedric Walker said in an announcement of this year’s show dates. “Our show is bigger and more explosive than ever with acts that are going to blow your mind.”

Tickets range from $16 to $40 and are available online on the circus’ website.
