BRONZEVILLE — St. James Catholic Church is holding a special Mass to pray for the safety of law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics and other emergency personnel on Oct. 15 followed by an Oktoberfest celebration.
The church at 2907 S. Wabash Ave. will celebrate a “Blue Mass” at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 18.
The Rev. John Edmunds will preside over the ceremony that remembers emergency personnel who have died and pray for protection over those currently serving.
After Mass, the church will serve Oktoberfest-style food.
