LOGAN SQUARE — A 49-year-old man was carjacked at knifepoint in Logan Square Saturday evening, according to police.

The carjacking happened just after 10:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Shakespeare Avenue, police said.

The victim told police he left his 1995 blue Toyota Camry running with the keys in the ignition near the curb while he carried items inside a home on the block. Police would not say whether the victim lived in the residence or not.

When the man returned, a man approached the car with a knife in his hand and told the victim to "stay back," police said. Then the knife-wielding man got in the car and drove westbound toward Central Park Avenue, according to police.

The victim was uninjured.

No one was in custody as of Monday afternoon.
