CHICAGO — This week will see unseasonably hot weather, with temperatures hitting the 80s nearly every day in Chicago — and almost 90 on Wednesday.
Temperatures will fall to the lower 70s on Tuesday, said Kevin Donofrio, a National Weather Service meteorologist, but after that they'll be in the mid-80s through the weekend. The weather service is forecasting a muggy high of up to 89 on Wednesday.
The normal high temperature for this time of year is 73 degrees.
There's a chance for rain overnight Monday into Tuesday morning. There could be thunderstorms late Wednesday and periodic rain showers, but a "good portion" of the rest of the week is expected to be dry, Donofrio said.
Otherwise, the skies will be more sunny than cloudy after Monday night, Donofrio said, though the days could be "sort of muggy" with humid weather.
