CHICAGO — A rifle attack in Brighton Park Friday night killed three men and a woman who might have been pregnant, police said.

The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. in the 4700 block of South Fairfield Avenue and appears to be gang-related, police said.

Officers found all four dead in a vehicle when they arrived on scene.

"The Chicago Police have increased significantly the number of patrols in the 9th District tonight in this area," Chicago Police spokesman Sgt. Al Stinites said at the scene.

There of the victims were identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as 28-year-old Ida Arvizu, of the 3100 block of West 38th Place; 21-year-old Michelle A. Cano, of the 1500 block of West 71st Street; 24-year-old Joel Sandoval, of the 2200 block of West 50th Place; and 27-year-old Miguel Sandoval, of the 2200 block of West 50th Place.

Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Arvizu is thought to have been pregnant, but that authorities could not confirm that until an autopsy is performed on her.

No home addresses were provided for the victims.

Police are looking for a white or light-colored SUV in the attack.

No one is in custody.
