Kris Bryant Is Sending Thank-You Notes To Fans Who Sent Him Wedding Gifts

By Kelly Bauer | September 12, 2017 11:55am

CHICAGO — Cubs star Kris Bryant and his wife, Jess, are sending thank-you notes to all of the fans —including strangers — who sent them gifts for their wedding.

Fans dug up the Bryants' registry several months before their January wedding and sent them gifts from their wishlist. Now, the Bryants have returned the favor by sending out signed and personalized thank-you notes to everyone who sent them a present.

Kelly Langan, who gifted the newlyweds stainless steel mugs for Moscow mules, got her note Monday. Langan, of suburban Barrington, doesn't know the couple, but she's a "big Cubs fan" and thought it would be fun to send the Bryants a gift after learning their registry was public.

"The mugs seemed friendly and festive," Langan said. "I was hoping for a thank-you note that was 'autographed' to keep as a memento. Success!"

Langan had all but given up hope of receiving a note from the Bryants since the baseball season is well underway. Her friends kept insisting Kris and Jess Bryant had a year to send out notes per traditional wedding etiquette. Langan was so excited when she got the card that she texted her friends to tell them.

"Thank you all for gifting us the two Moscow mule mugs! We are beyond grateful you took the time to think of us and our marriage!" the Bryants wrote in the card.

Langan said the notes show the Bryants are "nice and 'regular' people."

"I like that it was a regular, handwritten note, not too fancy, like I would've written," Langan said. "And I got my autograph ... with a backstory!"

Jess Bryant even posted a photo of her kitchen — complete with the mugs she was gifted by Langan — on Instagram.

"Shoutout to all you amazing fans who sent us wedding gifts!!" Jess Bryant wrote. "Everything in this photo all came from you guys, and we couldn't be more thankful!!"

In another post, Jess Bryant wrote that she was trying to send thank-you notes to everyone who had sent the couple a gift.
