LOGAN SQUARE — Some of Logan Square's best chefs are teaming up for a special dinner that will benefit urban farming in Englewood.

The fifth annual "Backyard Dinner" will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sept. 17 in Bang Bang Pie & Biscuit's idyllic courtyard at 2051 N. California Ave.

The chefs from Animale, Table Donkey and Stick, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, and Das Radler are all slated to cook dishes at separate stations. An array of drinks such as botanic beer from Forbidden Root, wines from Girasole Vineyard from Candid Wines, craft pop from 164 Brewing and signature cocktails from Chicago Distilling Company will be served.

There will be a mini silent auction and a raffle, offering local dining, cultural and entertainment experiences as prizes.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the nonprofit Growing Home, which teaches urban farming in Englewood and other underserved South Side communities. The produce grown on the farms are sold at farmers markets across the city.

Tickets cost $75-$85 and can be bought online.
