CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was rescued by his friends at 31st Street Beach on Monday morning, police said.
At 9:40 a.m., the people were at the beach, 3100 S. Lake Shore Drive, when they noticed the man had gone underwater while swimming, police said. His friends pulled him out.
The man was taken to Mercy Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
