Zaytune North Center Closes After 2 Years; Bridgeport Location Still Open

NORTH CENTER — Nearly two years to the day after opening in North Center, Zaytune Mediterranean Grill has quietly closed, making the announcement via a sign taped to the restaurant's door.

The closing is permanent, according to the notice. The news has yet to be posted to Zaytune's website or Facebook page.

At Zaytune's 2015 ribbon-cutting, owners admitted that the west-of-Western address, at 4322 N. Western Ave., was less than ideal, which was precisely the point — to expand dining-out options in an area better known for its used car lots than restaurants.

The closing notice thanked supporters and added that Zaytune's original Bridgeport location remains open.
