NORTH CENTER — Chicago loves the new Steingold's of Chicago a little too much.
The hotly anticipated North Center deli opened Tuesday to a rush of customers and had to close early after running out of pastrami.
"#ateusoutofhouseandhome thanks for the enthusiasm," Steingold's posted to Instagram.
On Thursday, co-owner Aaron Steingold announced on social media that the restaurant needed to regroup after such an overwhelming response and would be closed over the long Labor Day weekend, Friday through Monday, before reopening Tuesday.
He thanked Chicagoans for their "incredible outpouring of support," adding "#weneedmoresuppliesandstaff."
Steingold's will be back in business at 7 a.m. Tuesday, 1840 W. Irving Park Road.
