NORTH CENTER — The popular outdoor Movies in the Parks series comes to Revere Park Wednesday — with a twist.
The free screening is one of several scheduled across the city through Saturday as part of the Chicago Onscreen Local Film Showcase. The movies selected for the showcase, now in its fourth year, are all made by Chicagoans and/or about Chicagoans.
Of the 18 films featured in Chicago Onscreen, two will screen beginning at dusk at Revere Park, 2509 W. Irving Park Road: "Count Me In" and "Ubuntu: The Peace Exchange in South Africa."
The documentary "Count Me In" follows the process of participatory budgeting, which gives residents a say in how some of their tax dollars are spent.
"Ubuntu" tracks a group of Chicago teens on a Peace Exchange trip to South Africa.
