HYDE PARK — BBQ Supply Co. will replace Yusho in Hyde Park with plans to open Nov. 1, according to the restaurant.

The West Ridge-base restaurant will expand to move into the location vacated by Yusho in July at 1301 E. 53rd St.

Yusho closed all of its locations this year to refocus energies of chef Matthias Merges’ other restaurants, which includes A10 in Hyde Park.

BBQ Supply Co.’s Jared Leonard has been revamping his restaurant’s identity as well, renaming it from Rub's Backcountry Smokehouse earlier this year.

It hasn’t changed the restaurant’s focus on pork ribs and pulled pork and Texas-style sausages and brisket.

It fills a gap for barbecue left in Hyde Park after the closure of Ribs ‘N’ Bibs in 2014.

Leonard’s Stone Soup Collective is also planning to open Beacon St. Market in Uptown and currently runs three locations of Budlong Hot Chicken.
