
CHICAGO — Shootings have killed one person and wounded 12 others since Wednesday morning, police said.
• At 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a woman or girl was shot 12 times and killed in Logan Square.
In non-fatal shootings:
• At 6:27 a.m. Thursday, a 73-year-old man was shot in West Lawn when he refused to give in to a robber's demands.
• At 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, a 25-year-old man was shot in Bronzeville, police said. The man was standing behind a parked car in the 4400 block of South Prairie Avenue when someone in a silver Lexus fired shots at him.
The man was hit in his left leg and he took himself to Mercy Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
• At 10 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Garfield Park, police said. The man was standing on a corner in the 500 block of North Springfield Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.
The man was hit in his right leg and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man was uncooperative with investigators, a police source said.
• At 9:50 p.m., a 24-year-old man and 23-year-old man were shot in West Pullman, police said. The men were in the 11700 block of South Yale Avenue when they were shot.
The 24-year-old was hit in his left arm and a bullet grazed the 23-year-old's face. They were taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as "stable," police said.
No further information was immediately available.
• At 9:30 p.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in Chatham, police said. The man was in the first block of West 79th Street when he was shot in his right hand.
The man was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The man was uncooperative with investigators, a police source said, and no further information was immediately available.
• At 9:15 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was sitting on a front porch in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street when someone fired shots.
The man was hit in his leg and he was taken to Loyola Medical Center in good condition, police said. He was treated and released from the hospital.
The attacker ran away after the shooting, police said.
• At 9 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Near West Side.
• At 8:28 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in Back of the Yards, police said. The man was walking in the 5400 block of South Wolcott Avenue when someone in a car fired shots.
The man was hit in his knee and he was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.
• At 8:27 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in North Lawndale, police said. The man was walking in the 3900 block of West Grenshaw Street when a car drove up, several people got out and they robbed the man.
During the robbery, someone fired shots and they hit the man in his arm and hip, police said. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
Several persons of interest were being questioned, police said.
• At 1:16 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in Washington Park, police said. The man was in the 200 block of East Garfield Boulevard when he got into an argument with another person. That person left and then returned with a third person, who fired shots at the man.
The man was hit in his ankle and he was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said.
• At 9:19 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting in Chicago Lawn, police said. The woman was in the 6900 block of South Artesian Avenue when her left hand was grazed by a bullet.
The woman was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition, police said.
No further information was immediately available.
